Ivy Kids is committed to good nutrition – an essential part
of early childhood development.
BrainBites® Nutrition Program
Research shows that poor nutrition due to an unbalanced diet can hamper brain development, negatively impacting information processing, language skills, and behavioral development in children. Ivy Kids BrainBites Nutrition program is our commitment to doing our part to combat these negative effects of poor nutrition. We only serve fresh or flash frozen fruit, vegetables, meats and whole grains at Ivy Kids to ensure each child is receiving the best nutrition possible while in our care.

BrainBites Testimonials
There are four key areas Ivy Kids focuses on with the BrainBites program.
01 Serve fresh fruit.
No canned or packaged fruit is found at our schools because they usually have
more sugar and less vitamin C.
02 Use quality vegetables.
We only use fresh or flash-frozen vegetables; none are canned. Canned vegetables
tend to contain 50 percent less protein and 12 percent more sodium.
03 No pre-formed or pre-cooked meats.
The meats we serve our students are only fresh: no pre-seasoning and no sticks.
We only use lean beef, turkey, and chicken.
04 Whole grains not refined grains.
We have minimums for all meals, but especially with our grains. Whole grains are
rich in antioxidants, B vitamins, healthy fats and fiber. These nutrients are essential
for brain development. Refined grains such white bread or white tortillas lack
many of these nutrients.
